TrustEd Future

The association Voice4You has been granted project development funding from Medier & Demokrati to develop a project idea on how schools and media can collaborate to strengthen young people’s knowledge about media and news.

The association Voice4You, founded by journalists Jenny Sköld and Lotta Bergseth behind the publishing tool Mobile Stories, has been granted development funding from Medier & Demokrati for the project idea TrustEd Future. The aim is to explore how schools and media can collaborate to strengthen young people’s trust in sources, engagement, and understanding of journalism through their own media production in the classroom.

The first stage of the project will map needs and resources within schools and media, identify potential partners, and develop a plan for long-term funding. One goal is to contribute new research-based knowledge about young people’s media production in a Swedish context.

“We look forward to focusing on Sweden and deepening the understanding of how journalism in schools can contribute to a more resilient and democratic society,” say Jenny Sköld and Lotta Bergseth.

According to Martin Holmberg, program manager at Medier & Demokrati, the project aligns well with the programme’s focus and connects practice and research in a socially important area.
